GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM - Bilbao
GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM - Bilbao

The museum is considered one of the most important examples of architectural de-constructivism: it consists of a series of complex volumes, spectacularly interconnected with one another. The museum does not even possess one regular flat surfaces: the main structure seems to be almost organically sculpted. Externally, it is covered with titanium sheets (resembling fish scales) and limestone blocks. Thanks to the reflective metal used, the building reacts to atmospheric agents and various lighting conditions throughout the day, in an unexpected and outstanding manner.

MOOD

The breadth of the wide interiors amplifies the perspective. The moss green finishes of the peninsula and columns give chromatic continuity, the stone effect of both the wooden paneling and the top is a material reference that embellishes its style.
